The youth program runs from U13 to U18 for both boys and girls. At these levels, competition becomes more important in the games. Teams are tiered into Gold, Silver or Bronze levels.

- Age group evaluation sessions can start as early as April and are scheduled around (as much as possible) school track and field events. Although we try to assign players to teams before the summer break, some decisions cannot be finalized until the end of August. Some fine tuning may continue through the first three weeks of September.
- The soccer season begins in the first two weeks of September.
- A Christmas break runs from mid December to mid January.
- Cup playdowns runs from late January to late February.
- The season finale is celebrated with our annual Jamboree in April. Our Jamboree involves teams from across North America.
Every effort is made to make sure that all players enjoy success at whatever level they play.
Update on the technical program for u12-14 age groups (reflects next year’s age groups)
The Technical Committee has been working with Brett Hyslop, our Technical Director to build a new technical development program for the Club next year specifically focussed on the U12-14 age groups. Based on feedback from parents and coaches, we have found these ages to be challenging for players and coaches, as this is when they begin to be tiered into VIPL, Gold, Silver and possibly Bronze Divisions and also move at U13 to full field soccer.
These are critical development years for players and we want to provide more technical support for coaches at these age groups. As part of this plan we will be implementing a coach mentoring program that will see Brett or Steph Steiner:
- Increasing their attendance at practices and games at the u12 gold and silver level;
- Being a head coach or co-coach for u13 Gold teams.
- Being a head coach or co-coach for u14 VIPL teams.
- Increased practice support for u13 and u14 silver teams.
We wanted to let coaches and parents know about these changes as part of or preparations for next year. While our technical staff are playing an increased role the ultimate purpose is to provide a better program and provide more support to coaches as they transition in to full field.
Coaching appointments have been delayed this year but should be completed over the next few weeks.
