Program Goals

Our goal is to offer our youngest players an opportunity to learn about soccer in a fun and engaging way. this is an academy style program, typically co-ed. The focus is on FUNdamentals where players spend time in large and small groups, learning skills and playing fun games. Scrimmages are typically played at the end of each session with players of similar level being grouped.

There are no formal teams at this age level and therefore no player assessments. The season runs from September 17 to early March (with a winter break from December-January) and we offer an optional spring session (April-June).

Training takes place once per week on Saturdays and at the start of the season players may choose between Lochside Park on Saturday mornings, or Tyndall Park / Upper Lambrick on Saturday afternoons.

For our winter session, we plan to bring players indoors, to ensure that poor weather is not a detractor from enjoying soccer training.

Equipment

Players will be provided with club jersey, shorts and socks. For the outdoor sessions, players are required to wear soccer cleats and shin guards. For the indoor session, regular sneakers with non-marking soles are fine and shin guards are recommended.

Parent Participation Required

Our house league training involves the parents, so both player and parent can have fun while developing their skills, and so you can support your child outside of practice time. Throughout the season, we will also support interested parents in beginning coach training. If you’re interested in becoming a coach, please let the coordinator for your age group know.
